Yes, Hutch customers can use both 2G/3G products together depending on the internet application or service they wish to use. They need to maintain both, 2G and 3G internet balances by recharging with data packs and usage will be deducted based on which speeds they wish to use.

How will a customer switch between 2G low speed and 3G high speed?

The customer can dial *131*7# and select speed. The customer can also directly switch to 2G low speed by dialling *131*7*3*2# or to 3G high speed by dialing *131*7*3*3# according to their preferences.

What is the benefit of this Switch?

The customer will be allowed to experience Hutch’s 2G products as well as its 3G products by maintaining both 2G & 3G balances. The Switch will conveniently allow the customer to choose the speed based on the internet application or service they wish to use.

Will a customer be able to use the 2G product with 3G speed?

 

No. The customer is using the 2G product only 2G speeds will apply. If customer needs 3G speeds they should purchase a 3G pack first and then dial the direct code *131*7*3*3# to confirm they are on 3G high speed.

What will happen if a customer is on 2G speeds and activates a 3G pack?

 

The 3G pack will be activated but speeds will remain on 2G speeds. If the customer wishes to switch to 3G speeds they can dial *131*7*3*3# & switch to 3G speeds.

What will happen if the customer is on 3G high speeds and activates a 2G pack?

 

Customer will continue to be on 3G high speeds. Customer can then switch to 2G low speeds if he/she wishes by dialling *131*7*3#.

Will the customer be able to switch from 3G back to 2G at any time?

 

Yes Hutch has introduced this convenient feature to allow customers to Switch at any time. Customers have to maintain both, 2G and 3G internet balances.

What will happen if a customer tries to switch from 3G back to 2G but without 2G balance?

 

The customer will receive an “insufficient balance message”.The customer should immediately recharge with a 2G pack.

Note: Switching will not be successful even if the customer has a (Rs.) account balance. Using account balance customer can purchase a 2G pack by dialling *131#.

What will happen if customer tries to switch to 3G high speed without 3G internet balances?
